If you know anything about Dubai, you will know that it’s a city that has experienced a lot of change in recent years. As a destination that is only continuing to become more and more popular with tourists from around the world, Dubai has certainly evolved. This hasn’t just meant change for residents and those that spend a lot of their time in the city but also those that visit Dubai on holiday. There are a few key things that Dubai visitors are now able to do with ease, that they were not able to do at all some years ago.
Key Things Dubai Visitors Are Now Able To Do
- Obtain a Liquor License – Dubai has always been somewhere with strict rules on alcohol consumption but recent changes mean that Dubai visitors can now be granted liquor licenses. Non-Muslim visitors to Dubai can apply for a 30 day license which will allow them to purchase alcohol. The liquor license allows for alcohol to be purchased from designated outlets and comes with a code of conduct.
- Own a Company – The UAE has recently repealed the requirement that stated all businesses must be 51% owned by a national at least. This means that companies can now be completely owned by foreign visitors. Though there are still some restrictions in place, this does mean that Dubai visitors can now own their own company without the need for a national.
- Get Long Term Residency Rights – The fact that the UAE doesn’t offer permanent residency to foreigners has previously meant that workers and students were limited when it came to staying in Dubai for a long period of time. However, the government has now created five year visas and ten year visas. This means that a lot of people can now obtain long term residency rights in Dubai where they were unable to before.
