Discovering Dubai From Sunset to Sunrise

Discovering Dubai – Step into the future!

Over-the-top, flashy or flamboyant; whatever preconceived notions you have about Dubai, one thing is for certain – it’s unlike any place you’ve ever been before. The second-largest of the Unites Arab Emirates, Dubai is the fastest growing city in the world, and is a microcosm of Europe, Asia and Africa, all here to witness the breathtaking growth of this already staggering metropolis. Dubai deals are the way to go unless you’re related to one of the Sheiks; with cheap holidays to Dubai now flooding the market, leaving you with plenty of extra shopping money.

The biggest and the best

It seems everything in Dubai was built with the ambition of being more spectacular than anything that has gone before. The Burj Khalifa is now the tallest building in the world; the Burj Al Arab, at seven stars, is the world’s most luxurious hotel, while the Dubai Emirates Mall has one of the world’s largest indoor ski slopes. Also, prepare to flash the cash at Dubai Mall, the largest in the world with over 1,000 shops plus an aquarium, theme park, cinemas and ice-skating rink.

Centuries of history

The glass and steel skyscrapers may dazzle, but Dubai isn’t all about looking to the future. There are plenty of heritage sights, which offer a taste of a bygone era, where nomads wandered the desert and Arabian armies conquered the Gulf. Get to grips with the past at the Al Fahidi Fort, which was built in the 18th century, houses the Dubai museum, and is full of historical treasures including artifacts dating back 5,000 years. Scenes are recreated from Mosques, traditional Arab houses and the souk.
